The day I have been highly concerned about for a while now may have finally arrived: There is a new variant of COVID-19, designated Mu, that could possibly be resistant to the current available vaccines. The World Health Organization has labeled Mu "a variant of interest." This variant arose in Colombia in January 2021; it has now spread to South America and Europe with cases in California, Florida, Texas, and New York.
